This collection of photos originated from the homestead of Howard & Lottie (Nesbitt) Little, in York Mills. Howard was a co-owner of Briggs and Little Woolen Mills. In the corner of the sun porch of their old home there sat a three-foot high wicker basket. It had been there as long as anyone could remember and, like a stratified time capsule, it was the repository for decades of formal baby pictures, graduation photos, pictures of boyfriends and classmates. Nothing was ever thrown out. The most interesting ones were at the very bottom. Dating back to the turn of the 20th century, they provided fascinating insight into Howard & Lottie’s early lives. The collection is now in the hands of their granddaughter, Susan Gladiuk, in Abbotsford, BC.
