Burden Baptist Church

Photo of the Burden Baptist Church taken before 1965

Built in 1862, the Burden Baptist Church was located in Burden, York County, New Brunswick, just a few kilometers downstream from the Prince William Baptist Church.  It was a member of the York Association of Baptist Churches.

The Burden Church had a large active cemetery that served as a community cemetery. There was also an earlier abandoned cemetery behind the active Burden Cemetery. During the Mactaquac dam construction the church was burned in 1966 and both its cemeteries were relocated beside the Prince William Church after it had been moved to a new location.
