Located in Davis Park within the Village of Harvey across Route 636 from WWE Smith’s Country Store, this monument is dedicated to the Davis family in recognition of their generous land donation. The land was gifted by Alda Vivain (Griffin) Davis (2905-1987) and her daughter, Elaine Davis Duckworth. Alda Davis was married to Willard Davis (1897-1976), the son of Richard Davis (1862-1940), who was a store owner in the Village of Harvey, and brother to Inez Davis (1889-1977).
Davis Park is located on the site of the former Robison Hotel that became the Brunswick House then was destroyed by a fire in 1926.
