Harvey Military Tank

Lynx Command and Reconnaissance Tank located in the Village of Harvey

Military Tank Monument

Within a green space in the Village of Harvey, New Brunswick, sits a military tank along side the Big Fiddle and the Cenotaph. It was presented to the Village in the late 1980s, early 1990s by local resident, Andy Royer. He had applied for the tank to the Department of National Defense. This particular tank is of the command and reconnaissance type that served Canada from the late 1960s to early 1990s, operated by a three person crew with driver, commander and observer. It was specifically used in Germany during the Cold War and in Cyprus for peace keeping purposes.

Prepared by Sheryl Bartlett based on a communication with Andy Royer on October 27, 2019.
