Committed community organizer and volunteer
Known as Bernie, he was always there to help the community, whether it was to initiate much needed volunteer projects or help a neighbor. As a highly active community volunteer for over 60 years, he provided a lifetime of service to Harvey Community Days, founded the Cork Cemetery Association, and served on community Boards of Directors including the School Board, Hospital Board, and the Senior Complex. He also served as Clerk of Village council and was the Cork church caretaker.
