About

Since its founding in 2010, the Harvey Regional Heritage & Historical Association—commonly and fondly known as Harvey Heritage—has been dedicated to preserving and celebrating the legacy of the Harvey Rural Community. We exist to ensure that the diverse history of our region is not only preserved but shared with every generation.

Governance

As a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation, Harvey Heritage operates under a dedicated constitution and an elected Board of Directors who share both a passion for our past and a vision for our future.

Our board is comprised of neighbours and history enthusiasts ready to assist you with research or donations.

Meetings & Events

Throughout the year, Harvey Heritage hosts a variety of events—from historical presentations and hands-on workshops to more casual meetups. These events are hosted at our Heritage Office in the Upper Village Mall, though we often branch out to the wider Harvey Rural Community to bring history to life where it happened.

While our Board of Directors meets every four to six weeks to manage operations, our public events are open to everyone. To stay in the loop, follow us on social media or become a member to receive direct email invitations.

Our Services

Harvey Heritage is more than a static archive; it is a living resource designed for the benefit of our entire community. Whether you are a descendant tracing your roots, a student of local history, or a curious neighbour, our team is here to help you uncover the stories of the Harvey Rural Community.

Research & Archival Access
We invite you to dig into the archives with us. We can assist with historical inquiries, helping you navigate our collection of information to find the answers you need. We provide access to documents and records that can offer a window into the past, ensuring that the primary sources of our heritage remain available to the public.

Education & Skill-Sharing
We offer presentations and demonstrations that highlight unique aspects of our local legacy. To assist the community in preserving their own history, we also provide tutorials and workshops on archival best practices, giving you the tools to protect your family’s documents and photographs for future generations.

Acknowledgement of First Peoples & Traditional Territories

Harvey Heritage respectfully acknowledge that New Brunswick is situated on the unceded and unsurrendered territories of the Wolastoqey, Mi’gmaw, and Peskotomuhkati peoples. We seek to repair and rebuild meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples and honour these lands, which hold the hopes of future generations.
