Harvey Rural Community

The Harvey Rural Community, established on January 1, 2023, is a vibrant and growing municipality formed as a result of local governance reform in New Brunswick, Canada. The community’s boundaries roughly encompass the former Local Service Districts of Manners Sutton and Prince William, along with the Village of Harvey.

The Harvey Rural Community is divided into four Wards, as outlined in red on the official community map. This division helps ensure fair and balanced representation across the community’s diverse regions.

The community’s first council was elected in 2022, setting the foundation for local governance. The inaugural council included Richard Corey as Mayor, Andrew McLean as Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Ward 2, Randy Chase as Councillor for Ward 1, Sheryl Pepin as Councillor for Ward 3, Joey Chessie as Councillor for Ward 4, and Shawn Little as Councillor at Large. The council works collaboratively to serve the needs of the residents, making decisions that promote the community’s growth and well-being.

Council elections are held every four years, allowing residents to have a voice in shaping the leadership and direction of their community. The Harvey Rural Community is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment for all who call it home.
