Leading Canadian corporate banker and executive, Companion of the Order of Canada
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1921, Rowland Cardwell Frazee spent his entire career in banking with the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). He first joined the RBC in St Stephen, New Brunswick in 1939 and a year later transferred to the Harvey Branch where he worked as a teller and played on the local hockey team.
During his career he advanced to more senior positions, ending his career in 1986 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RBC.
Rowland passed away on July 29, 2007.
