
This photo is dated 1950 and is of the same building, when it was the Davis General Store. Note the old gas pump in front of the store and the large covered veranda that are missing on the more recent photos of this building.
Davis General Store opened in 1916 and supplied the community with groceries and household supplies. Other goods carried include building equipment, farm supplies, paints and most lines essential to the welfare of a farming community. The business operated under the name R. Davis and son. Then the store was operated by son Willard, his sisters Inez and Mary Jane until they closed the business in 1967.
