Wooler Settlement was located in the area now known as Christie Ridge. Christie families began populating the area in the 1860s. Wilmot was named for Lemuel Allan Wilmot (1809-1878), commissioner of lands in the Harvey and Cork areas, who assisted settlers in receiving land in 1838. Later, Wilmot became part of York Mills. Thomaston Corner is located at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 4 and was named for Richard Thomas, the first postmaster of the settlement.
