This photo is a copy of the original from the collection of Ross Wood. The caption with the photo is: “Undated photograph of unidentified family standing in front of their house.” However, the same photo was found at the New Brunswick Archives. There the photo has the following caption: “Harvey Station, NB – Farmer’s Trading Company Store. The store was on the left of the building and living quarters on the right. Left to right: Sadie Swan, John Coburn, Grace Burrel, Edgar Coburn, Sarah (Swan) Piercy, Bessie (Coburn) Lister, Florence Coburn, Sarah Coburn.”
In the year 1892, the Harvey Farmers’ Trading Company was brought into being, with the object of supplying the farmers of the Little Settlement district with groceries, farm supplies and household goods at moderate prices. It was purchased by Charles Arthur Watson in 1940 and became known as Watson’s Store.
