In the late 1860s, the railway was built through what is now the Village of Harvey. Due to the newly established route of transportation, businesses sprung up and the area became known as Harvey Station. This map shows businesses in the area in 1878, not long after the railway was established. WWE Smith store is still in existence currently run by Wiston Gamblin (2025).
