The D.C. Taylor home in 1945.

The first Harvey Hospital was a summer residence donated by Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Taylor in 1945. It was opened in 1948 and run by the Red Cross, then by the Harvey Community Hospital Ltd in 1958. A new hospital, built by the Government of New Brunswick, opened in 1965. The former hospital was then converted into a nursing home by Herbert Swan. The new hospital is now known as the Harvey Health Centre. Funding of the hospital was greatly supported by the community from inception.
