This photo is of a one room schoolhouse located on Tweedside Road, located next to the L.O.B.A. Hall, formerly a church. Children from grades one to six were taught there. The boundary of where children went to school changed between this school and the Manners Sutton School located near the T-junction of Tweedside Road and Route 3, depending on the number of students attending.
The school was heated by a wood stove and the bathroom was an outhouse. Students hauled pails of drinking water in the morning from the house next door. The school closed around 1967 when the new Elementary School in the Village of Harvey became ready. The building is still in existence and used for storage.
