Fiddler, band leader, and leading developer of the local dairy industry
Ellice Eugene Morris, known as Gene was born in Magundy, New Brunswick in 1921. Educated at Ontario Agriculture College, Gene worked in the Dairy industry, starting with the Harvey Creamery. His attention to new technologies to improve the quality of all dairy products, led him to the appointment of Secretary Administrator of the New Brunswick Dairy Products Commission in 1971.
Gene’s other passion was music, playing the fiddle and guitar, with the same success that he had in the dairy industry winning awards and releasing two professional recordings. He was the only two-time inductee to the New Brunswick Hall of Fame
Gene passed away on October 23, 2003.
