c. 1900 photo of Bill and Andrew Robison, sons of Marshall Robison and Mary Herbert, cutting oats in a field located in the village of Harvey. The location of the field is approximately where Blacks Grocery is located today.

The grain was cut with a reaper or binder pulled by a team of horses, and workers stacked the cut and bound sheaths of grain into small pyramids so they would shed rain water as they dried, ripening to be threshed.
